In an event where large numbers were present amateur radio colleagues and friends of the Radio Club Dominican, the Dominican Red Cross awarded a plaque for the work done by the Radio Club Dominican, activities and communications support in the earthquake that devastated the neighboring country of Haiti.

The delivery of the specified plaque representing Dr. Ligia Leroux Director of the Red Cross went on Mr. Hector Melia communications officer of the institution of relief, Mr. Melia also enjoys amateur radio and letters HI8HEM.

Dominican Radio Club was very active and committed to its technical team under the responsibility of Yoldy Cleto HI8RYC to create conditions and provide communications to relief organizations who also was honored by the same act.
